My Story
My Scentsy beginning is a pretty unusual one, and I tend to giggle when I talk about it, because thinking back on how I discovered Scentsy for the first time is just funny to me. I was driving through a big retail stores parking lot looking for a place to park, one spring day in 2009, and I pass an SUV with a decal across the back windshield that read “Wickless Candles” with the word “Scentsy” under it. I remember saying to myself, out loud, “What in the world is a Wickless candle?” and I chuckled to myself while I thought about it as I parked. Just about the time I walked past the vehicle again, the lady was getting into her car. I called out to her and said, “I just have to ask, What in the world is a Wickless candle? How is that even possible?” She grinned and said “Let me show you!” She pulls out the Lisbon warmer and began to show me how it melted the wax bar with the heat of a light bulb and… I WAS SOLD!! At the time, my 2 year old son was at that stage he had started climbing on things, and a few weeks before, I had caught him climbing up on the couch trying to reach a lit candle I had on the counter. I swore right then and there I would never have another candle in the house. So needless to say, I was giddy at the thought of being able to have candles in the house again that wouldn't burn my son. For the next week or so I poured over the catalog she gave me. I couldn’t put it down, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the safety of this wickless candles. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that other moms I knew would love to have these warmers in their homes around their kids as well. So without even purchasing a warmer to try, I decided to just Join Scentsy as a Consultant! It has turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and one of the biggest blessings for our family! Not only has it allowed me to bring in some extra income to pay for things like Christmas and special family outings for us to do, but Scentsy has given me the freedom to be a better wife and mom. Scentsy has allowed me to be able to stay home to raise our two boys and to get to homeschool them. Now I have more time to do fun things with them and with my hard working hubby. Something I didn’t get to do while working full time in the business world. Scentsy has been so much more than any “job” I have ever had before. Yes, it makes my house smell flippin’ amazing. It has even brought me life-long friendships with some crazy fun people who are on this same amazing Scentsy journey! But… Scentsy has also given me the confidence and faith in myself to accomplish my dreams and goals that I’ve never had before. Unlike the business world, I don’t have anyone holding me back from promoting, achieving my goals or accomplishing BIG Dreams! All I have to do is work hard, conquer my fears and spread my wings and fly! My next goal… to earn an Incentive Trip, and to help others find their own Scentsy journey!
